At the largest annual Ignite 2020 conference, held online this year, Microsoft introduced a number of new technologies and services in the field of business and innovation:
Azure Communications Services.
This is a new platform that allows developers and organizations to integrate communication features into their solutions for any device. For example, you can use it to add voice and video calls, chat and SMS to mobile and desktop applications, and websites using just 2 lines of code. The platform will provide a more positive user experience, while ensuring security and efficiency at the enterprise level.
Azure Orbital.
This is a new service that allows you to use the capabilities of space satellites. With access to low-latency global fiber networks and Microsoft cloud services, customers will be able to innovate faster using satellite datasets. The service is available in closed testing mode.
Update of artificial intelligence services in Azure.
The new Metrics Advisor Preview cognitive service is a solution that simplifies preventive monitoring of organizational growth factors and problem diagnosis. Spatial analysis is a new function of the computer vision service, based on the recommendations for the responsible implementation of artificial intelligence. This will help organizations ensure safety when returning to office work by arranging internal space to ensure social distance and other precautions recommended by health care organizations.
Microsoft Teams updates.
New backgrounds of the “Together” mode, including halls, conference halls and cafes, will be available by the end of the year. Dynamic view updates include the ability to customize the display of content, for example, allowing you to speak in front of your own presentation. Workplace Analytics, an analytics service that allows executives to understand, for example, how close employees are to exhaustion or how well they can communicate with colleagues and clients, will be available at Teams in October. SharePoint Syntex is the first public product based on Project Cortex. This is an AI system for finding the necessary information and working with it within the organization.
Dynamics 365 updates.
The new voice channel for Dynamics 365 Customer Service based on Azure Communication Services, available in private testing mode, will provide comprehensive end-to-end customer service. Also announced are two new additions to Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. The Cloud and Edge Scale Unit add-in enables organizations to manage critical peripheral workloads with the Azure device ecosystem to ensure business continuity even in the event of a temporary loss of cloud connection. And the Inventory Visibility add-on allows large retailers and manufacturing companies to conduct millions of transactions every minute and accurately deliver cross-stock in real time.
Azure Mixed Reality.
Azure’s new object binding service will allow developers to automatically recognize and track objects in the physical world. The opening of commercial access to 3D ToF technology, which Azure Kinect is running, will make the development of commercial 3D cameras and related solutions available to partners around the world, including Analog Devices and SICK AG.
Security updates.
At Ignite 2020 was announced that new Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 features help protect personal data, applications, and services in remote and hybrid environments. These include changes to Microsoft Defender to provide improved protection for IoT containers and devices, Compliance Manager to help customers comply with regulatory requirements, and more.
